I hear and feel a KNOCK under my seat when 1/3 clutch release
I recently started to hear my car engage into first. Sounds like a like a slight knock or loud click. Within the last month I've been having trouble putting her into first. I quite often have to jam it. I know, I know, when's the last time I change the MTF? Well, I haven;t yet since I bought the car in Nov. I've been wanting to do it within the last month and a half (I have about a dozen posts questioning how to DIY) put it's been way too cold and icey to start doing this for the first time. I think I should just take it too the shop and get it changed. I even have the Honda MTF. DAYUM!!
Well, any suggestions about the sound into first gear?

having problems going into first or reverse could also mean the clutch is dragging, you might want to check out the hydraulic system.
When someone steps on the clutch pedal you should see at least1/2" or more of movement on the clutch release arm that goes into the 'bellhousing' on the front of the trans.
Check the fluid level in the clutch master reservoir, and check for leaks under the dash where the clutch rod passes into the back of the clutch master.

Also check your motor mounts. Mine need to be changed and when my clutch first starts to engage the motor shifts back and makes a clunking noise. I could be wrong though, just a thought

I changed My MTF to Honda MTF. Nothing changed the Knock. I looked under the hood and the BMC fluid looks okay. Here's exactly what's happening.
When I'm at a stop:
I push the clutch down. Put it in first. As I'm giving it gas and letting and releasing the clutch, a moment before I completely let off the clutch I hear and feel the knock under my drivers seat..or there abouts. Knock..click...something.
If I'm rolling to a stop and I slow down to 2nd, the same thing happens as I release the clutch.
This is a recent thing. last 3 weeks. And it happens about 85% of the time. I potentially cannot get under my car as I do not have a garage or proper jack stands. I do not see any leaks. Could it be my pressure plate. How can I check my hydraulic system.
really unhappy about this.
I just thought of something .. chk the frt radius rods make sure they are tight ( 17 mm nuts ) and the bushings are not worn down
http://www.hondapartswarehouse.com/p...t6=B%20%202710
the radius rods are # 8 and 9 .. the nut i am talking about to make sure that it is tight , is # 27 ...you need a 17 mm socket ,,
you might be able to ge to it by kneeling down , some cars have a little flap that you remove to expose that nut i cannot recall if the 96 does .. if it does not, you have to partially remove the frt splash shield to access the nuts
