I have a 98 honda accord 5 speed. I believe the engine is the 1.8 Vtec. This isnt my car but its my buddys and im not all that knowledgable about honda's. But what other years will work for a transmission or any at all. Thanks a head of time!

 

The 98-02 accords are the same generation. In the US, the 4-cylinder are 2.3L engines.

Go to a site like car-part.com, and you can search for used transmissions. You can see what donor vehicles match the information you add for your friend's vehicle.
