Default Intermittent drumming sound under hood?

I have an intermittent drumming sound coming from under the hood that can happen at idle at a standstill and when accelerating. It goes away and then comes back. Oddly enough, it sounds like it's coming from the right side of the engine where there are no pulleys or anything. It's a "whomp whomp whomp" sound that gets faster when you accelerate but goes away during the higher rpms. I can tell it is something definitely rotating. I initially thought my CV joints but it does it at idle...has to be a pulley right? PS..had the timing belt and water pump thing done a 10,000 miles ago, as well as new tensioners. Thanks guys!

Default RE: Intermittent drumming sound under hood?

sounds are difficult at best to diagnose online, if it is truly coming from the right side of the car, make sure there is not wires or anything rubbing against the radiator fan, make sure the fan is secure and not rubbing on the radiator, if it does it at idle have someone look under the hood when it's occuring and make sure you can locate where it's coming from
