6th gen AT ..... now that was a losing design.
Watch it bud... lol

So its in the center console? Oh, man!!!
I picked the engine up last night after a 2hr drive each way.... Damn LA traffic. 43,647 miles is what was on the gauge. Pretty good!!!
The guy said the engine doesnt need the ECU, theyre exactly the same and he hasnt had any problems so far with these same swaps. He even threw in the harness. I forgot about the door lock motors. Im gonna check mine out first and then get them if necessary.

He was also trying to get me to buy the trunk and tailights for an 01-02 swap. But nah, I dont need those that bad

^ Yes, my bad. I always think there were only 2 engines offered. The nice F23 and the crappy one.
Weren't there 3 F23s available? The A1, A4, A5????

Again thanks for all the help you guys have provided. Been real helpful. I couldnt take pics last night because it was dark, and it was raining this morning. Ill grab some shots once I get time tomorrow.

Watch what? I had a 2000 V6 sedan. After Honda's wonderful design caused the tranny to fall apart at 90k, I bought a car that the manufacturer didn't get sued for billions of dollars because they sold total garbage. Honda's quality no longer upholds it's reputation, period.

True, but didnt they offer a transmission change freeof charge? I have a buddy with a 2001 and his trans took a dump, he called honda to complain about it and they took care of it free of charge. They didnt give him a loaner vehicle or anything but they gave hime a new tranny.

I heard it only applied to the V6 models anyway....

You do have a point. Samething with the G35, theres an uneven wear on the front pass. tire that infiniti fails to recognize as a factory defect. Its annoying. Just like the MREV, thank god I didnt get that model

Your on the wrong forum to being talking trash about Honda. And other than that the car was good lol. now Ford/Chysler/Chevy on the other have been selling TOTAL garbage for the past 30 years.

I didnt think Honda would replace them for free, but for reduced cost, but even then it only came with a 3 year 30,000 miles warrenty or something, and the new trannies were no different than the one they replaced so its possible it could happen again. I heard stories of people replacing the tranny 3 or 4 times.

my 5g tranny is still holding up find, and the kid I sold it to beats the h3ll out of it lol.

If Honda hadn-t sold so many garbage trannies in the late 90-s and early 00-s I wouldn-t have anything bad to say about them. Known bad trannies are the 6th gen 4 and 6 AT, the 5AT in the CL of the same generation, 6MT from the 7th gen.

My car had passed the 7 years from originally delivery mark when the tranny died.

I think the more important problem here is how my windows go up slow and glove box light stays on.

I like the CF door skin and crank window solution better.
