light on dash clock

Default light on dash clock

The light on my 2001 Accord has been out since i bought the car. Does this thing light up or not? If it does then how do i make it work again?

I know the 98 accord doesnt light up, it might not for yours either, but I cant claim that. There has been been how too's to basically wire an led in there to have it light up, but thats something that would also have to be searched for.

You have to remove the clock and there is a led light in the back. It is replaceable, and looks like a black plastic screw. And yes they had them in 98 also.

Mine went out shortly after we bought the car. 99 accord.
Apparently it's a known problem. See attached Service Bulletin.

I have an 01 and my clock light went out as well. I got a new lamp and it didn't work either. I eventually got it working, but I don't think their design is the best on this...

How did you get this working? My light was working fine until I removed the clock and HVAC controls to get at my radio this weekend. After putting it all back together the clock light stopped working.

I got a new bulb from the dealer and it still doesn't work. I tried cleaning the metal contacts with rubbing alchohol, but no dice. I'm about ready to buy a new clock. Annoying not being able to see the time at night.

believe it or not there was a bulletin on this,, # 01-097 , feb 12 2002 , it applies to all accords 98-02 ,those lites are the craps,, they do not last,,,
here is the new bulb part # 35505-S84-B02..

Mine went out and just got a new bulb, presto problem solved.
