Default Light in Radio Dead

My girlfriend has an 03 Accord and all of a suddon the light in the radio went dead, if u shine a light on the display you can still see the radio station and everything thats how i know its just the light. Now my question is, is there a fuse or would it be a burnt out bulb and how do i go about fixing it?

Thanx,

Triz

There is a Honda Campaign to fix your radio. They did my 2003 Accord EX. I think it is a circuit board they replace.

I don't think they call it a "recall" because it doesn't make the car unsafe. More like a silent unadvertised warranty.

By being a campaign rather than a recall the time to get the repair done is usually not open ended like a recall and they don’t notify owners. On my 2003 Accord the CD player has not worked since the repair but I didn’t try it for weeks later and the motor blew up about than and sat for a year. I would like to know what the repair actually is and if they give you back the same radio. I found out after the repair that I have different radio code (the radio codes when it loses power to deter thrives).

Well I called my local honda dealer here in Canada and asked them about this radio campain thing and they asked for my Vin#. I gave him the vin and he said yes that there is a fix but because our car is Honda USA we would have to go to the states to get it fixed. What a bunch of crap, of well I guess we are gonna have to make a weekend of it....

Think positively your car will get fixed. We used to see odysseys that needed a trans and were from canada. How do you tell a person they need to drive several hundred miles with a car that doesn't shift just to get it worked on.

The radio repair used to a complete radio exchange. They stopped doing that around 2006. Now they just replace the circuit board inside the radio. The reason for the new code is because they change the electronics inside the radio. The disc drive is not changed during the repair.
