Default Locally rebuilt starter motor vs. after market purcahse

In a previous thread I found my starter motor is failing. Prices for after an market starter motor for Accords range from $100-145 while a rebuilt Honda motors is $233.00. I found a couple of local auto electrical specialist that rebuilt Honda starter motors for about $120-$145 with a 6 month warranty.

Has anyone had good or bad experiences having your starter motor rebuilt locally?

Weigh the options. Aftermarket might have a better warranty (lifetime) but the local shop is six months. Then, who is "really" going to do a better job of rebuilding it. Yes aftermarket wants to keep costs down, so if it goes bad you are out the labor. The local shop might do a better rebuild but after six months you are on your own....

Or the one from Honda that is comes with a warranty of ? But then you have to ask, who rebuilt theirs...and don't think that Honda actually rebuilds starters, trust me, they have "someone" else rebuild their starters and alternators.

I've had to replace the starter in two of the 3rd gen's, I went rebuilt aftermarket with a lifetime warranty.
