Thanks redbull, I finally loose the bolt after cutting the shield. Changed about 3.5qts ATF. It looks good at 35k miles

I’m getting ready to attempt to change mine ATF on my 2009 Honda Accord EX-L but before I started I wanted to purchase some extra plastic locking pins. Does anyone have a part number for them? I want to make sure I order the correct ones before attempting this project.
Thank you ImBigmOOse |

It's Honda part # 91505-S9A-003.
https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ine=1386443962 Spray some lubricant like WD-40 or something first to loosen any grime, dirt; which will help for it to come out easier (Honda actually recommends doing something similar when pulling exterior clips). With a small flat head screwdriver, gently pry at least two sides to pop up the middle part of the clip and then pull out the whole clip. |
Thank you redbull-1 for the fast response.

I already previously stated this in post #2; but, there are 16 plastic clips holding the splash shield. Don't attempt to take off the entire splash shield until you remove all the clips (count them after you removed them all to make sure); otherwise, you may rip off part of the splash shield.

Redbull-1,
I have one more question for you. By making the cut-out in the shield have you noticed any wind noise or flapping of the splash shield while driving? ImBigmOOse |
No, I didn't notice any added noise with the cut-out. Even without cut-out, it seem like over time, the plastic splash shield tends to bowed a little in the middle as the the plastic retaining clips are mainly holding near the edges.

Thank you.

You're welcome. I did consider whether making a cutout would result in additional noise before I had cut it out; but, saw other openings already in the splash shield too. Additionally, if necessary, I would have made a removable cover for the cut-out if it resulted in unwanted noise. I would have used something like another type of plastic clip or maybe even Velcro to hold the cover for the cut-out if I had made it.
