Default Looking to buy an 08 Accord Coupe, any advice?

Hey guys,

This will be my first Accord. I really like the new 08+ coupe looks and interior. I found a few used 08's with around 10K-15K miles on them in my area which appear to be a good deal ($18-$22k, depending on options and V6 vs. I4).

Is there anything I should look for mechanically or otherwise while inspecting the car? Any known issues to look out for?

All of these cars still carry Honda warranty but wanted to get some owner-insider tips if possible!

Thanks in advance.

There are a few things like paint chipping where the front bumper meets the fender, but nothing too serious.

I'd get one with the lowest miles and the options/colors you want and talk the dealer down from there.

Are any of them being sold by a private party?

Yes a couple of them are being sold by private party but I am leaning towards getting one from a dealership since they will be certified and carry a longer warranty.

Any mechanical issues to be aware of on the 08 coupes? I read somehere about rear-brakes wearing out very quicly and some starting the 1st time problems!

Ah, yes, the rear brakes do wear out quick and no one knows why. Many believe they were designed to brake harder in the rear so the car doesn't nose dive.

I haven't heard of any 1st start issues, but it could be true.

there are no major issues to look at in that car... the 08 is a solid accord, go for it!
