Default Looking for Confirmation

I have been doing research through all the archives and I just want to make sure that my conclusion is correct.
Today I was driving in 90 degree heat with AC on and after driving awhile temp gauge read hotter than normal, but not in the read or close to it. I was also traveling at highway speeds (60-75). I turned off the AC and slowly temperature came back down. I usually don't drive with the AC on, too cheap, but today I did and noticed the difference, temp needle is usually below halfway mark, today it had traveled past it but not by a whole lot.
SO...Bad thermostat is my deduction. Both fans work when they are suppose to. Coolant is not low. Water pump was replaced 10k miles ago. I would like to know if I'm right before I go buy a t-stat from Honda for $25.
Because this gets dredged up all the time, a simple yes will do. If 'no' please advise.
