'96 Accord LX Fan Problems
The fan in my car has 4 blades, I am seeing Radiator fans on Ebay with only 5 blades.. they look exactly like the same assembly, just 1 extra blade. The Condenser fans have 4 though, but I need Radiator fan.
Would they work?
I did see 2 listings with 4 blades for Radiator Fan , but they were like $20-30 more..
Let me know what you guys think.. I appreciate it

as long as the dimensions are the same and the connectors are the same then the # of blades shouldn't matter.... People may have decided that a 4 blade fan wasn't as good as the 5 so aftermarket manufacturers switched to the 5 blade... who knows... Your other option is a junk yard.... check out spaldings in Washington, they have a great website and ship stuff... www.spaldings.com just looked it up and it's $56.00 + shipping, they have one in stock and they are a good company
I found 2 places locally, one wanted $100 plus tax.. the other - $20 and I pull it (3 bolts and a plug) I'm there
Also, one place had power steering pump for $60, other was $300.. damn.

Guy made a mistake on the phone.. ended up being $125.. but since he told me wrong yesterday, he gave it to me for $50 which is still a ripoff.. but anyway, (3) 10mm bolts and 2 plugs to slide off prongs, and I had my fan running again
Tried it with AC on and both spin great.. haven't drove around yet for the car to heat up.. but it was at 1/4 temp on the gauge and fan wasn't on yet while idling, is that a problem or does it have to get a little hotter before fan kicks on?

I just drove around town and back, not too much stopping at red lights.. but I'd park and check whenever we stopped at 3 different stores.. the fan was never on. When I turn AC on it works fine.. how can I be sure that my car just isn't getting hot enough, so figure out if replacing fan didn't completely solve my problem?
"On the acords BOTH fans should come on when engine reaches normal operating temp or when the a/c is on." - DesertHonda
If your a/c is off and your condensor fan kicks on after running for a little while but your other fan doesn't then you have an issue, check the #12 fuse and make sure that it isn't blown

If they both work with a/c on then we know that the motor is ok.. no need to repalce it ...
so only the cond fan comes on when engine gets warm corect ?? or neither fan come on ?? i am talking about now with A/C OFF ..and engine warmed up
if the a/c fan works when engine is warm .. chk fise # 21 underhood fuse box 20 amps ,
if neither fan works when engine is warm,,at the t-stat housing there is a green plug 2 wires going to it,, unplug it and jump the 2 wires together ,, engine running ,, if fans come on you need a new fan switch
try these and let us know
- 'Cooling Fan' Fuse is Good,
- Car Warmed Up to Little over 1/4 on Gauge,
- Neither Fan Came on without A/C,
- Unplugged Green Plug/Jumped With Wire,
(Neither Fan Came On)
- Checked for power at Green Plug,
(No Power)
So I guess it isn't the switch.. well, hopefully the switch is good but I wouldn't know since the plug has no power. Would that wire run everywhere, or a short distance to the fusebox to where I could follow it easily direct to the fuse?
this car is electrical problem nightmare so far.. frustrating.
