This is another question regarding my 2005. I had a stereo shop install an after market single din under my broken factory radio. The radio part of the factory screen is not on nor are any of the backlighting on my climate control ***** or buttons. They all work…. But no lighting. So at night it’s all black, can’t see controls other than the aftermarket radio. Installer said you lose all lighting to the factory unit when doing this. Is this true?

 

The short answer is that I don't know how the aftermarket stereo is wired for your car. It is possible that you could the backlights depending on how the new stereo needs to be wired.
