Hi Y'all,
Got pulled over by a trouper last night due to the driver side headlight out-just a warning this time. After replacing the lamp and checking the fuses it still does not come on. Curiously as it turns out the high beam works. Put the meter on the plug and there was no power to the low beam. Took the rubber housing off the plug and the connections look good. Does not seem to be the plug. Wires seem in good condition.

The car has only 110k on it.

Do have the original repair manual with wiring diagrams not that I can glean a whole lot from them.

Have no idea how to proceed.

Ideas?

 

Fuses? Might be separate fuses for high/low & left/right?

Poorman12 likes that generation of Accord, maybe he'll chime in cause he knows them better than I do.

 

JimBlake, I'll look into it again but it looks like there are separate fuses to the left and right beams but they all look good and have been swaped or replaced with no change.

I hope the image posting of the wiring diagram from the manual works.

OP- In the underdash fuse panel there are four fuses for the headlight - L Low, L High, R Low and R High beam. On the back of the "coin box" to the left of the steer wheel you should see the label for which is which....if not let me know and I can look at one of mine.

If the fuses are good. One thing you want/need to check is the wires to the headlight. With the "flip up" design, I have had the wire harness get worn. With the hood up and lights "down" look at where the wire harness comes close to the "rod" from the retract motor....if you see signs of "pinching/rubbing" then you will need to remove the cover from the harness - just that black plastic tubing - and inspect the wires.

If neither of these are the case let us know and we can go further.

 

Thanks Poorman212, I have checked the fuses using the diagram you mentioned and they seem fine. I tried switching them and putting in new ones without a fix. The wires and harness look fine as far as I can tell. Without any other avenues of pursuit I will start taking the thing apart and take a better look at the wire.

 

 

Well poorman212 you located the issue.

After fussing with the switch and the fuses and the plug at the lamp I finnaly examined the wire from the light and sure enough someone at some point had cut he wire to the low beams and spiced it back together poorly and the wire was not connected.
