Default Engine Oil Life Indicator

What does it mean if the indicator stays at 100 all the time? Can it be programmed any other way like changed when it gets to a certain mileage rather than sense oil life?
Thanks.

Can't be reprogrammed as far as I know. I doesn't count down 99%-98% etc. I only goes by 10% steps, so it won't change until suddenly it shows 90%.

The "maintenance minder" operates by monitoring the engine (rpm, ect), and calculates oil life that way. There is no set mileage/time interval. I have an 03 Accord, and they didn't have the "Maint. Minder". If you want to go by mileage/time intervals (the old way), you could use the maintenance intervals for an 03 Accord. It's the same engine, same car.

Try resetting the maintenance minder, press for 10 seconds till it blinks, then press another 5 seconds. Then check after you driven for 2-3 weeks to see if it changes. If not, you may have to go to the dealer to let them use HDS (Honda Diagnostic System) to try to reset it.

You can't reset it until it gets down to 15%. How long (miles) has it been at 100%? I bet it's working & you simply have to wait a little bit until it displays 90%. It will not display 99%, 98%, etc.

Aftere resetting the maintenance minder and changing oil, the percentage indicator now works as expected. I've logged over 1000 miles and its now dropped to 90%. The PO must have just reset it b4 I bought the car.

It's in the owner's manual. Your 2006 has the Maintenance Minder. See attached pic. for maintenance minder symbols and items.
