Default maintenence required light

Is there any way to check what it means when the "maitenence required" light turns from green to yellow in my 94 accord EX? I have the VTEC engine and a manual transmission.

Means it's almost time to service it. When it turns red it's time. Your owners manual should have a list of reccomended service items based on time and mileage.

When the Check Engine light came on in my '00 Accord Coupe, I thought I was just a little late getting it serviced. But the next thing I knew, I was dropping in a new tranny.... >_>

Check Engine Light and "Maintenance Required" light in 98-02 Accords/indicator in 94-97 Accords are two totally different things. The maintenance required indicator or light comes on automatically after the car has gone a certain number of miles, regardless of the service that has been done. You still have to reset it yourself. Check Engine light means the car's computer has found something wrong......well "wrong" is kind of a strong word. I guess I should say the computer has detected something that is abnormal.

Question how would I resetthe maint required lighton an 2004 ex coupe? I had it serviced but it won't turn off. It annoys me bc it blinks in yellow 4-5 times every time i turn on my car and keep thinkin something is wrong with my car...

If you can do it yourself it should tell you how in the Owner's manual. I would imagine you should be able to do it yourself so [sm=icon_rtfm.gif]
Haha! I always wanted to use that one!

Oh yeah...erdie721, to reset the "maintenance required" indicator on your year model, there is a slot right above the indicator on the instrument cluster. Stick your key in that slot and the indicator will go back to green
