motor mount

I am replacing the passenger side motor mount on my 2000 Accord 3.0 Vtec. On the center bolt that goes through the mount there is some kind of counterweight attached by rubber to a little bracket hanging from the head of the bolt. The counterweight itself is about the size of a Zippo cigarette lighter and about the same shape. The rubber that holds the weight to the little bracket is rotted and is just about to let the weight fall off. Is this counterweight very important? I looked all over the web for one and couldn't come up with anything, so it's probably an expensive dealer part! I'd just as soon get by without it if I can. Thanks for any help on this, guys. Never seen anything like it before.
Thanks,
Pat W.

You're probably referring to the side engine mount dynamic damper.

I assume it is #4 in the picture. It is $32 at the dealership. Usually the part is installed for a reason. I don't know what would happen if it was missing.

I also have a 2000 v6 accord...in the diagram, is #2 a transmission mount?
