Three common things come to mind. How much of the testing are you willing to do?

1) Ign switch - electrical part - going bad. Not sure if the 02 were part of the recall or not, call the dealer and see if the first one was replaced for free. Even if it was, that does not rule it out, they replaced it with the same design.

2) ICM is getting hot and giving out.

3) Main relay is getting hot and giving out.

Not saying to replace anything just giving the three things I would test. Again, if you are willing we can help test these.......only bad part is that the car will have to be acting up when the tests are done.

When you say "it turns over but dies after the started motor stops" is this like it fires up and is running but when you release the key from start to run it stops running.

Anyway...
1) Key switch-check for 12v on the blk/yel wire going to the dist with the key on/pos II. Sometimes you can "wiggle" the key while it is running and see if the car stalls.

2) ICM-A timing light on one of the plug wires, is the light "lighting"....getting power to the plug.

3) Main relay- You say you can hear the pump prime. Try spraying carb cleaner into the tb-open the butterfly.

These are some "roadside" tests you can try to see if you can narrow it down....I hate working on cars on the side of the road

the starter works no problem but as soon as i let off the key form the start position thats when eveything stops as if the is no gas in the engine, but i can hear the whine from the fuel pump. i hope im not making this more confussing then it is ill call the dealers to see if they replaced ing switch for the recall. i looked it up but for the recall and the 02 was recalled. thanks for your views and posts.

If it was replaced under the recall, it was just another switch just like the original. I guess it's not redesigned or improved, just install another one. So it can go bad again.

K-man - do not replace anything without proper testing to be sure what is wrong.

IMHO - Fuel pumps on Accords are some of the best out there. Meaning that it would be the last place I would go....and even then I would test it again...why, they just don't fail like you "see/hear about" on other cars.....again, just me.
