Cars are heavy and trusting my life or anyones on a .10 o-ring IS NOT worth it so please always use jack stands and chocks when getting under a car...I've had to "dress down" my kids (they are now 17 to 22 something) to drive that home...as EXV6 said, "Safety first". Sorry to sound like an "old guy" but it is important. Enough about that...good luck.

I fully agree...i am still afraid to get under my car even with 2 jackstands and the jack on one side just in case the stands fail.
I think i would feel safer with at least 4 stands or a lift lol :p

Ramps are good too, for stuff that you don't have to remove the wheels.

I drive up on small blocks/boards just thick enough so I can slide under & reach the oil drain plug & oil filter. Of course, there's plenty of other jobs that need more height.

When I use stands, I grab the bumper & shake real good. If it IS gonna topple, I want it to do that before I get underneath.

I prefer to use ramps...could not use them on the oil job because i could never find a chunk of wood to overcome the clearance issue. I will use ramps next time...feels much much safer :)
