Default My key wont even try to turn the ignition- '03 Accord LX

Car- 2003 Honda Accord LX 2.4L Vtec Coupe 217,000 miles.

The Problem- My key will push in, but it doesn't feel like it goes all the way in. The car seems like it is reading the fact that the key is there because the dash lights flash( speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, and temp gauge) and ultimately it will not turn at all. On top of that the steering wheel is locked in place- AND PLEASE NOTE I have tried wiggling the steering wheel to turn the key and unlock the steering wheel, but to no avail.

Recent Work-#1. Had the computer replaced, but found out that a loose ground bolt at the throttle body was the problem, so I kept the old computer. #2. Replaced the starter about 3 months ago.

Funny things that have happened since the computer change. My defrost and other A/C controls are not working- the air only blows straight out the front vents. It will not move to the floor board or defrost or both.

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED! I have heard these cars have this problem at this mileage, but havent found any results to the problems! Thank you.

Common people, someone else must have had a similar problem! haha. So, I also should point out that the original key- or at least our original key does NOT work- we have been using the valet key instead because the orginal key broke due to the plastic piece breaking- we have put back together and successfully used it during emergencies...PLEEAASEEE HELP haha. I dont want to go back to the dealer!

When you insert the key, can you turn it at all?

When you insert the key, does the green key light turn on for about two seconds, pause for several seconds, then flash 5 times?

Did you try shaking the gear selector when it is in P?

Have you tried a different key?

When I insert the key, the only thing that lights up is the back lights for the Speedometer/Odometer, so no its doesnt. I moved the gear selector with the emergency shift button and put it neutral and then back to park- Nothing either way, yes we tried our original, but its not in the greatest shape. It was only used for emergencies. Any ideas on what may be going on?

If it feels like the steering wheel is locked, it probably is.

Follow the instructions in the link to try to unlock the steering wheel and turn the key. If it won't unlock, then it can be the key or ignition lock cylinder. It has info. on that too.

OK well, the steering wheel is definitely locked, but I did just remember that it had the Ignition Switch recalled and replaced about a year ago. Is that maybe the problem?
