Default My sister wants to buy a honda.. what are 90-02 models to avoid?

She wants this '02 Civic. I think the 1990-93 Accords are a far better value and more reliable. $1500 vs $4000 AND I think the Accord will outlast the civic. Plus civics are stolen all of the damned time, and everyone EVERYONE WANTS A CIVIC SO YOU HAVE TO PAY A HUGE PREMIUM FOR THE )#(%#%)& THINGS

Is the '02 civic okay? I know to avoid the '01 since it is the first year of the new generation, right? What about all of the tranny issues with civics- probably with the autos, right? She wants a manual so that should bot be an issue

98 to 02 Accord auto's, stay away from them IMO....if she wants a manual...all are good

That is pretty much what I thought- I saw online here that there were a lot of problems with the trannies, but they didn't say auto or manual on the sites I ended up seeing... I thought it was probably issues with autos.. So even the '01 is okay you think???

I'd go with the civic. It has more life left, plus more safety features.

I like that it's safer.. I just can't get past the "I could buy three accords for the price of the civic" thought I really want her to be safe, but not in more debt, but safety sure is important ..... decisions decisions

I have a 2000 Accord EX 4, with the MT. 150K+ and no problems. The single highest cost of ownership has been tires. I always install Potenza's, a little pricy, but the handling is great! It almost turns your Accord into an Acura.

I have a friend with a salvage hell, so tires aren't very pricey for me.. that much helps, for sure

NOW she is convinces that she wants a "Del Sol" car
1994 HONDA DELSOL

I am looking, I see OKC has PILES of Hondas ... look it at the ones I suggested:

☆¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸☆1997 Honda Civic DX 5 Speed Manual
☆¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸☆1996 Honda Civic EX 156,000 miles
☆1992 Honda Civic Si, PERFECT

1997 Honda Civic 2DR

Some good deals to be had, especially if these clowns have the sense to work with me on price.. But I made the mistake of sending her the del sol too ... ...
