do you have a power steering problem too?

it could be a hydro boost issue

Previous owner could have pulled the gauge panel and removed the ABS light bulb to disable the light.

Check the manual. Can't remember, either the B1 or B2 fuse in the ABS underhood fuse panel will reset the ABS.....heck pull both, it can't hurt....As someone said, things like driving with the e-barke on for more than X miles, or over X speed will set the ABS off......(we know the light comes on)
