Default Need Help

I am looking at buying a new accourd, well maybe. I owned a 1990 CRX Si and loved the car. 160K no problem except CV joints. My wife owns a 2002 Accord with 65K miles on it. Persoanly I think it is junk, but she loves it and wants another one. The car squeeks all over, the hood release broke and it has only been used at the time I did an oil change, so about 21 times. When it rains and I am going down the freeway, water leaks in on my left foot, anyways I am not sure what to do. One great experience and one bad experience. I found a honda accord we want on http://www.chicagolandauto.com Its a 2003, so one year newer. Well here you can see the car at right here http://www.chicagolandauto.com/info.php?id=485. What problems have people been having with this car? I just don't want to listen to squeeks while my feet soak.

Thanks,

Dump the 02, the 03 has been a good car, the only real "common" issue that I can think of off the top of my head is the radio backlight goes out and requires a bit of finesse or $600.00 to a dealer to get it fixed.

Your feet getting soaked is most likely due to an improperly installed front windsheild.

There's a TSB on that. if the car is within a certain number of miles or a certain age, Honda will replace for free
Check out the DIY section. dh's link I think it is 4th from the top. You have to log into the site he linked.

Then go to Auto Repair reference center, click on Honda and year model, then click on recalls and bulletins or something like that.

Yeah the 7th gen (2003+) vehicles were apparently a HUGE upgrade from previous generations.

I love my 03 coupe, and would only trade it for an 08 coupe....

wanna buy me the 08 and trade? I'll leave the mods in

based on the statment that he "owned" a CRX I'm willing to bet that he no longer has it.

yeah, radio backlight is a 7yr/100,000 warranty repair now.

03 is very solid. no common failures anywhere.the 4cyl. is the best option for the 03-04 year because of the v6 transmission 'fix', but i rarely see v6 trannys with the 'fix' go bad anyway. go for it!

I've seen 50-50 results on the second tranny for the 6th gen AV6. The third seems to be the one that works ..... but by then you've spent more on trannies than the car is worth. Dr. Evil is better, but can still fail ..... this is just a horrible tranny design, thanks Honda!
