Default Need help‽‽

Hey yall,
well im new to this site and hopefully i can get some help from yall. I got a 1992 honda accord ex wagon with the 2.2L in it and i was doing a transmission swap on it and i accidentally broke this part that the distributor bolts to and im having a hard time remember what this part is called. I looked on google and also had people from autozone help me look for it qnd cant find it any where. I was hoping one of yall would know what its called and possibly where to get a replacement for it.

The piece that is broken off is a cap for the camshaft bearing. The four bolts in your picture need to be removed to take that cap off. I'm pretty sure it holds in the rocker arm assembly as well. The only place to easily get the part is a junkyard.

Thank you for ur reply. I called the local junkyard and they said they would have to charge me for the whole head unit and they would have to go to another place to pick it up.

Looks like that piece is sold as part of the cylinder head assembly at the honda dealership too. Maybe look on ebay for that part or the caps as a set? A u-pull-it junkyard may let you get just that part. Maybe a site that rebuilds cylinder heads could have that laying around from a damaged cylinder head? That is not a common part that breaks in a running engine, so they my have it?

Would it be safe to run the car with that part broke? The part the is broke is the part that the 3rd bolt to the distributor connects to the rest of it is fine and is holding the lifters and cam just fine.

I think you'll be ok. Mark the back of the distributor and the cylinder head with a magic marker incase the distributor rotates, so you can get it back in time.

I got mine adjusted all way back on rotation seems to run smoother that way just was worried if i ran it with out the third bolt it might break the other two bolts or something since im having a hard time finding the one number 6 cap

It should be ok. Having 2 points where bolts hold the distributor should work, but could allow the distributor to lean away from the top and leak some oil from the o-ring sealing the housing to the distributor. You'll have to keep an eye on that until you can find a replacement.
