Need info on honda I want to buy
Hi,
I'm a newbe to Honda. I'm looking at a used 95 accord w/ 175K miles. I always heard foreign cars can go 250K with ease. Is this high for a Honda? They are asking $2500. It is in great shape except the mileage and a few rust spots from salt.
Any help would be great.

i think it is still a good deal..although i would wanna fix the rust spots when i get it..so it wouldnt get worse..yeah..hondas lasts...as well as most japanese cars last...but you know it also really depends on the owner...if the owner really takes good care of the car...

The motor mounts are rubber bushings, so salt will not rust them out. Plus the splash shields will prevent salt and water from getting up there. You can see the front mount, and you should check that it is in good shap.
The gas tank has a plastic guard protecting it, so the gas tank shouldn't rust.
The timing belt is due at 180K miles on a normal schedule, so find out when it was last done. It needs to be changed every 6 years or 90K miles. That job typically costs ~$600. You might get them lower the price to offset the maintenance work.
You should take the car to a shop that specializes in hondas to get a used car inspected. If they find something that needs fixed, you might be able to get the price lowered too.
