Default New 2013 Accord Coupe Low Tire Pressure

Hey guys,

I just picked up my 2013 Accord Coupe last Wed on Dec 12 from the dealer. All was fine until last night when the low tire pressure light came on. I found out passenger side front tire was indeed low in tire pressure. So I fill her back up and re-calibrated the sensor. Anyway, the tire seem to be free from any leaking from nails/screws. So before I take it back to the dealership for a check up, I was wondering if any other thing could be causing the leakage?

the other 3 tires were at 32.5 PSI while the 4th one was reading 29 PSI! I've only had the car for about a week.

Could the pressure have been a couple pounds low when you took possession of the car? If so I wouldn't worry about it, or bring it back to the dealership, unless the pressure drops again. When you say "the tire seemed to be free from leaking" does that mean you checked it for leaks?

Personally, I would remove the tire, and check it with soapy water myself. Then I would know if there was a leak or not. How much of a hassle would it be to take it back to the dealership, just to have them check the tire for you?

If the pressure drops again, then get it checked out.

It could also be a thin piece of metal that has punctured the tire causing a relatively slow leak. A visual inspection may not detect it if the piece of metal has moved in more into the tire. I had that happen before.

The guys at the dealership couldn't visually detect anything from the outside of the tire. Even putting the wheel/tire in some water didn't reveal anything significantly noticeable. Only when they took the tire off the wheel did they find a very thin piece of metal. They said the piece of metal was wire-like. They patched it up and it was good to go.

If the pressure was couple of pounds low when I picked up my car, wouldn't the sensor have triggered? When I picked up the car, it was colder than right now. So it can't be due to the "colder" weather.

I just checked the tire with my eyes, didn't take the wheel off and check it with soapy water myself.

I hope that is not my case since this is a brand new car I'll continue to check the tire pressure and see if the pressure drops again. If it does, I'm definitely going to take it back to the dealership.

This time of year....a reading of the pressure can change.
Don't get worked up just yet......and if nothing else. It is covered
