Default New brake fluid color

I recently had my brake fluid replaced but question whether it was done or not. Attached is an image of two samples, one of new Honda DOT 3 right from the new bottle and one from my brake fluid reservoir close to the firewall on my 05 Accord. Comments would be appreciated and how do I get the existing brake fluid tested if it is suspect? Thanks to all!

To test brake fluid, you can use test strips or an electronic brake fluid tester.

Generally, brake fluid should be changed every 2-3 years. If you're doing it yourself, the costs isn't that much; so, not worth buying fluid testers. If you get it changed regularly, testing would also not be necessary.

Even if you get your fluid changed; depending on how dirty your brake system is, it may not be as clear as the new Honda DOT 3 fluid afterward, as shown in your picture. In addition, I've seen new Honda brake fluid either clear (no color) or slightly amber out of the bottle; so, color is also not the only indicator of it being new or not.

I just changed my brake fluid to Super Blue. It's no longer available, (at least the blue colored one) but I'm just finishing up my stock. Have enough to do it one more time. The fluid that was in the car was dark, darker than you show above, with a little crud in the MC. I used a Motive bleeder LF, RF, RR, LR sequence and the pedal was perfect when I was finished.
