Default New ecm reset 2002 Honda Accord coupe v6

Okay so recently my ecm went bad and shorted, so I went and got a refurbished one that was already flashed and only needed to be plugged in and reset. I got the ecm from rock auto. But how do I properly reset the ecm? I keep seeing people talking about removing fuses or disconnecting the battery. I just wanna know how to reset my ecm the right way so I don’t short it or hurt my car…

I'd say install the PCM with the battery disconnected, then reconnect the battery. The fuses will protect the PCM.

The 02 accord has an immobilizer system where your current keys need to be programmed into the PCM. I think the only way to get them programmed is by a locksmith,a shop with that type of scan tool, or the dealership. Maybe the PCM will have instructions on what to do about programming keys.
