new pads and rotors up front
i am installing new brake pads and rotors up front on my 97 accord, 4cylinder, non v-tech. and i was wandering what is the correct brake in procedure so that the rotors do not warp. the brake pads are semi-metallic and the rotors are the ones from autozone. thanks.

RE: new pads and rotors up front
Find a good long block that you can drive around a bunch of times without other cars getting in the way. Don't fully stop ever during this proceedure .... if you have to, slow down early and coast in neutral to a stop, but don't stop with the new rotors (for front rotors, you can use the E-brake if needed). Speed up to 30 mph and brake moderately to 10-15 mph, speed up to 30 and do it again. Do this 10 times. Now speed up to 45 and do the same thing with hard braking down to 10-15 mph, 10 times. Turn around and do the first braking procedure 10 times going the other way around the block. Done.
If you want to take it a step further, wet sand the rotor braking surfaces with 1200-1500 grit paper prior to installation.
