We recently purchased a honda accord, and the drivers manual has few specific timelines for regular maintenance such as oil changes. Instead it states the car's computer will tell you when any maintenance is needed.
This makes me kind of nervous. Can you really depend on that computer for a car maintenance schedule?

 

With the exception of motor oil, most other maintenance items are mileage based for service codes shown from the Maintenance Minder.

Independent of the Maintenance Minder, brake fluid should be changed every 3 years.

If you drive in severe conditions (which most people's driving conditions do not fall under), then maintenance items should be done sooner than indicated on the Maintenance Minder.

In addition, you will still have to check fluid levels and top off as necessary, as the Maintenance Minder does not monitor fluid levels.
