Default No oil to top of motor

I just finished replacing the head on my Accord with a rebuilt unit.

Started the car up after working on it for close to 30 hours.

It runs good.

However, it started to make a squeaking sound from under the valve cover.

i took it for a quick ride and it started getting louder.

I parked it and pulled the valve cover gasket.

it was mostly dry under the valve cover. There was some oil towards the intake side of the head but the camshaft and exhaust side of the head looked dry.

I know the warning about making sure the headgasket was put on the correct way. I am pretty sure I put it on correctly.

how does oil flow from the the oil pump to the head? I have my old head still and have looked at it and I do not understand.

Please help me. What could be wrong.

there is no way I can pull the head off again. I just don't have it in me.

***FIXED***

I took a break and thought about it for a while.

I did not pre lube the camshaft and rockers.

Oil was making it's way to the head but it would take a while for it to make it to every bearing and rocker.

I poured some motor oil on everything put the valve cover back on and fired it up.

No noise.

I took it for a few mile test ride and it is still running quiet.

It was my mistake.

Looking at my old head and headgasket had I got the gasket flipped around all that would happen in the center rear oil drain would be blocked off. There are nine other drains so I do not think it would be a real problem anyway.
