Default No Reverse

Hi,

I have a problem that is a minor annoyance to me with my 92 Accord 5 spd. The problem is it doesn't always engage when put in reverse. I will think I have it in reverse, let up on the clutch and apply the accelerator and hear a spinning and I go nowhere. I engage the clutch and shift to neutral and put it back into R and hear the clunk as it engages and then I'm fine. This isn't huge, but sometimes causes people to look and think, "Why is this guy taking so long to reverse??"

Is this normal, or do you think it is a clutch or transmission issue?

Thanks!

nope no problem....there just arnt any syncros in the reverse gear cause you should be completely stopped when you put it in there. if you have trouble getting it in gear the first time.......just put it back into neutral, let the clutch out, push the clutch back in, and then put it into reverse.

Thanks Lightshow,

I worried it might be the beginning of something bad. Good news!

1 thing that i have found to work for me ,, is to put the car in 5th gear first and then go down into reverse,, it seems to make it easier to engage ..
