OBD II port location on 97 accord lx

Default OBD II port location on 97 accord lx

i have an OBD II scanner from my step dad and i am tring to find the port on my 97 accord lx. Where is it located ?

i found it and tried to connect my scanner up and its not connecting with my car. NOT GOOD

Try it this way?

- Connect the scanner
- Turn scanner on
- Turn car on to II (don't start)
- Press the green or read key

What kind of scanner exactly? There's like 4 different data protocols under OBD-2, and not ALL scanners can read ALL types.

I had a cheap little one from Harbor Freight which worked on the 2001 Saab but didn't work on the Hondas or on the Saabaru.

Advance Auto Parts sells one code reader/eraser for about $70. It comes with a CD so you can lookup the codes in the pc and also in the booklet.
