Oil leaking from Vtec Solenoid
Hello guys.
I had found out today that the oil leaking from my car is from the top of the Vtec Solenoid. The solenoid has three bolts.. the want that is pointing to the back is where I see the leaking.
To get it fix do I just need to get the Vtec Solenoid gasket???
My car is a 94 Honda Accord EX.
and if there is instruction provide for the replacement that would be great.

The gasket for the VTEC solenoid is #12. If you were to take the whole VTEC spool valve off from the head, that gasket is #10. Then there's #21 for the VTEC oil-pressure switch. Either get all 3 or make sure you know which one is leaking.

Order two gasket one that has three circles and the other is like an 8 shape..
I will try to removed it over the weekend. If anybody have any suggestion on how to removed and install that would be a great help.
Thanks

The 3 bolts on that triangle flange are pretty easy - just remove them & lift the solenoid.
The bolts (#27) that go horizontally into the head might be difficult to reach. But then the spool valve should come right off the head.
Watch for the little piston thingie so you don't lose any parts...

Follow Jim's advice on the top bolts. Its pretty easy to access and replace the top gasket.
To replace the gasket that has the screen in it:
Two of the three bolts that hold the whole unit to the cylinder head are easy to access with a socket to loosen. The third bolt is not. You will have to drain the coolant and remove the thermostat housing to access the third one with a socket. Do not try a boxed wrench, because you will strip the bolt head. Guess how I know about that?

OK, the only time I did this was on a B18C1 where the spool valve was accessible. I guess it would be best if Kennilope finds that the ONLY thing leaking is the top triangle flange. Then you don't have to mess with the one against the head.
