brave,,,, if the timing belt or the camshaft would have been an issue i would have put it down on the DIY write up,,
if you follow the steps i wrote down ,you WILL NOT have a problem ,, i have done quite a few of these and never had any issue with the cam moving out of place ..

like i said,, remove the top bolt of the dizzy, and you might pull up the rocker arm assembly with the dizzy left in place .. there is different years that you HAVE to remove the dizzy but again try the top bolt first ,, if you look at rocker arm assembly you will know wether the dizzy has to came all the way out ..

if the car is timed properly beforte you start the job,, put a mark on the distributor and reposition it back to the same place,,

if you are not sure about the timing ,, after you install everything, start the car up, get a timing lite and set the timing ..

Oh, I forgot the timing! It seems OK so far, I didn't observe any knocking (maybe not enough to hear),
and the Hwy mileage I get is about 28 m/G. In terms of power, when I drive in local at D3 it hesitates
only once (at 1000 rpm as I can recall) each time, then it speeds up w/o any hesitation any more. But,
if I start with D4 from the begining, the symptom is less obvious (maybe not at all, I rarely try this way).
So I am thinking maybe the tranny is too old even though I change the Tranny fluid (ATF from Honda) as
required, or the fuel filter is a little clogged? I am not sure. There were a few times I was trying to change
the fuel filter since there is no record as when it was or it has ever been changed! However, as I stare at
the location of the filter and the aged Jombo nuts, my confidence drops to zero. My biggest headache in
the DIY is how to remove the screws and nuts that are probably "melted" together. There are a lot of things
I donot know, but you guys are here to help (salute again!), however, if the nuts or bolts won't come off,
your taking the risk of either breaking them or rounding them, then it is no longer a DIY for me.

if nuts and bolts look rusty,, spray some rust penetrant and let sit for a bit before you attempt to remove them ,, and also make sure to use good sockets and wrenches ,, if tools are worn IT WILL round off the nuts and bolts ,, it is critical to use good tools especially in those tight places where you absolutely DO NOT WANT a nut or bolt to round off..

Thanks Deserthonda! I got the liquid wrench already, and you are right my tools are too old and I saw
the wear from inside of some of the sockets that I have been using. I probably should get some new
tools and think about the fuel filter again.

Thanks

Just noticed the "MEMBERS PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING" in the forum, sorry for that!
I am adding my car's information in the signature.

Thanks Deserthonda for "How to change fuel filter" very excellent write up! clear, much
detailed. I had gone through it a while back, but didn't do anything due to my bolts headache.
Now, I believe I can handle it with some new good tools though I can not lift the car up and
have to crawl down there. Now it is time for me to change the O rings!

Once again, thank you guys so...so much for your kind help!

Finally changed the O rings, thank you all!

A couple of things have to make comments

1) You guys are 100% correct, the camshaft was not moving at all- like a mummy.

2) In Deserthonda's write up, the rocker arm assembly's fastening bolts' sizes are
correct 10 & 12 mm!, in the manuals, however, all say 6 & 8 mm!!!!!
My Gooooo...sh! I will not trust the manual any more

6mm & 8mm thread sizes vs. 10mm & 12mm wrench sizes...

Oh-uh, I am sorry, manuals! cauz I clearly remeber that I used 10mm & 12 mm sockets.
If the manual refers to thread sizes then no confusion. By the way, got to go for some high
quality sockets, two cheap 12 mm sockets were cracked and 10mm one performed the job
w/o any failure.

Thanks again JimBlake and Deserthonda!
