Overheat and Help need it

Hi guys, I have a honda accord 2006 Lx, it was few days ago when the temp went up. The level of coolant was at its max, after i turned off the engine and opened up the hood, the coolant was soo hot, i could hear the boiling sound of the coolant in the engine. Moreover the coolant pushed its way through the coolant reservor and started to leak out like crazy. Could it be the thermostat, or waterpump, or the belts maybe. I really need you opinions. By the way, this happened really frequently especially when i turned my AC on at its max. Thanks a lot

If the car is overheating, then I would avoid driving it when the temp gauge goes up (no a/c until you figure out the problem), because excessive heat can cause some major engine problems.

When the engine cools down, open the radiator cap and see if the radiator is full of coolant. Add coolant to the radiator to ensure that it is filled up. The overflow bottle may show max while there is no coolant in the radiator. Also try to see if any coolant is leaking onto the ground or in the engine bay.

You may want to lightly spray water on the radiator and a/c compressor fins to clean out any dirt and improve air flow to help cool the coolant. Also inspect the radiator fins. If they are coming apart like a ribbon, then you may need a new radiator.

The coolant in the radiator is fulled. But, still can't figure out why the coolant is boiled and the engine is overheat.

Did you have to add coolant to the radiator?

There are a couple of possibilities.

1. Bad thermostat (get one from a Honda dealership) Are both hoses hot when the engine is running?
2. Clogged radiator
3. Bad water pump
4. Blown head-gasket

are fans coming on ?? 4 cyl or v6?

Both Hoses are hot, and the radiator is full.
and fan is on.

I would inspect the Rad core on the side with the condenser beside it. You may be able to take the brackets off the top and lean it down for an inspection.

i had the exact same problem a couple weeks ago with my 94. my car was overheating. i would pull over and stop the car, the coolant in the overflow tank was boiling, coolant was leaking at the top of the tank, and the fan was working even tho the car was off.

first i replaced the radiator cap, it was busted btw. u wouldnt know unless u removed the cap and looked at it. was still overheating. it was the THERMOSTAT. replaced it, my overheating was solved. lost coolant while doing it so be sure to have a container worth to refill. and also had to bleed the coolant system of air bubbles. Cost me $32 for the 2 parts at the dealership.
