Overheating issue, again..

Default Overheating issue, again..

I thought I fixed the issue last time, turns out I didn't...

Before the lower radiator hose never got warm, now that I've done everything that I have, it gets hot now.

I've replaced the following.

Radiator
Thermostat
Thermo Switch
Water Pump
Thermostat Housing
Bled System with 50/50
Cooling fan relay


Now, here's where I think my problem lies. My fans will not kick on after running, the temp gauge gets to about 3/4 and they still are not turned on. If I jump the thermo switch connector both fans work properly. But, if I plug it into the thermoswitch itself, they never come on. I've looked for any shorts or wiring issues and I didn't find a single problem.

Any input?

When you shut off the car(key off), does the one fan kick on?

Do you have/borrow an IFR temp reader to read the temp of the cyl head?

When it does this, test the resistance of thermo a (switch where the lower hose, t-stat housing is).

Have you tested the rad cap?

wow you replaced pretty much every part of the cooling system, I would be upset if it still overheated as well.

Hopefully Poorman can help you to troubleshoot the problem.

Fan's do not turn on when car is off.

I do not have access to a IFR reader, are you basically just wanting to know if the head is getting as hot along with the system overheating?

Do you want me to test resistance at about half on the gauge?

Rad cap is tested and have been through 2 of them.

Just to make sure I am bleeding everything correclty, this is the procedure I am using.

Crack the bleeder screw open, pour coolant into radiator until a steady stream comes out of bleeder screw, shut bleeder screw and top of coolant to base on radiator. Start car with heat all the way up.

This is all when the car is off.

That is not the way I have done it

Fill radiator up, close cap.

Start car, turn on heat, open bleeder.

Let run till coolant spraying out of bleeder, close bleeder.

Turn off car

Top off coolant tank

This statement indicates your new? thermoswitch A (on the thermostat housing) is faulty (failed open). When engine is at operating temperature (~194F), about 1/2 way on temp indicator, thermoswitch A should close and enable both fans to run. If you pulled the connector, shorted, and they ran, this confirms thermoswitch A is faulty.

The thing is, this is my third switch. There is no way in hell that I have gotten three faulty switches.

If this is the cause, I must deserve some terrible Karma..

Can you tell us the supplier and part number for the thermo switch that you bought?
