Oxygen Sensor A/F
I have Honda Accord EX 1999, 4 cylinder, Engine Size Vtech F23A4, i recently ordered a universal Oxygen Sensor A/F the one by manifold, When i replaced the oxygen sensor i have probably connected the wires incorrectly because immediately i have received P1162 and P1167 codes. I have gotten a new BOSCH Oxygen Sensor from Auto Zone that i have replaced and now i still have P1162 which i read is something about Circuit Malfunction, i am new to this so please help me and tell me that is this means that the circuit inside the Oxygen Sensor or have i blown the computer by connecting wrong wires. if not then which circuit should i be looking at...
2nd problem that aroused immediately is my car idle speed, now after changing the Oxygen Sensor A/F the one manifold i also have problem with the idle speed, the idle speed goes up and all the way down and sometime it shuts off the engine. If i am taking the car on highway it's fine but as soon as car stops the idle speed drops and it shuts off the engine...did i also mess up the Idle relay switch or something like, please help in this matter. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

F23A4 is the ULEV engine, right? California? That one has a special wide-band O2 sensor. I don't imagine it would destroy anything, but you'll keep getting the error until you get the proper special sensor.
It is best to stick with Honda Parts. You can get a discount if you buy from majestic Honda. I think it is about 30 percent. I try to stay with Honda unless I can find the supplier that Honda uses. I put a Honda O2 sensor in my 95 Accord and after replacing it I found out it was a Denso. BOSCH doesn’t make O2 sensors or most of the other stuff you find at the local part store under their name according to their engineers at the classes I have attended. They also recommend not to purchase these items.
Depending on your car (put that information in your signature), the O2 sensor is in two different locations. Its either on the exhaust manifold or on the exhaust pipe near the catalytic converter.
Thank you very much for all of your help. Finally i got a part from a Honda Dealer that cost me unforunatley $235 but it has resolved all the issues that i have mentioned above now i have to fight back with auto zone to return their part...let see how that goes...

UL means Ulev right?
140 is not too bad for the sensor since autozone was asking 200+ luckily they didn't find it lol
