Hey guys! I have a 1990 Accord Ex with automatic seatbelts whichno longer function. I believe something shorted out. Neither of the belts are responsive AT ALL, and the reminder chime that is supposed to sound when your belt is unhooked no longer chimes when they are unhooked either. There's clearly a problem with the entire belt system/door entry. At the exact same time as everything went wrong, the ignition keyhole light does not light up either! These all must be linked somehow, and I was curious how I could remedy this? Currently my driver's belt is stuck down, useless, and the passenger one isstuck up. =/
Please help! Is there a fuse or something that must be changed to get the belts, belt chime, and ignition light to function again? Thanks!

does the radio memory still hold your stations? there is a fuse in the engine bay that controls the seatbelts/radio/clock. i think its the 7.5 amp back up fuse. you might want to check that.

I'd checkALL the fuses. The seatbelt motors probably can't run thru a 7.5 amp circuit. I don't have a 1990 so I don't even know how many fuse boxes it has (engine compartment and under dashboard & ???).
Still, after you rule out blown fuses, don't forget the lifetime warranty on seatbelt systems.

Look at the wires that run from the car into the door frame and make sure none of them got pinched or cut by the door. Open the door all the way up and look by the hinges

Great advice guys! Thanks a lot, it was a fuse as I had suspected. Tom was right, it's a 7.5A "radio backup" fuse, under the hood. It must be shared with the belts, belt reminder, and ignition light. Thanks again!
