Poor Miles Per Gallon on my 98LX (auto)
I'm getting approx. 19mpg city & 24mpg hiway. Is this about right?
I only have 65k miles & have done reg. maintainence. I read the the oxygen sensor play a big role in MPG, when are you suppost to replace it? From Cars.com It should be in this range: EPA Fuel Economy: City: 20 – 25 Highway: 28 – 32 |
RE: Poor Miles Per Gallon on my 98LX (auto)
V6? that's a little low for a V6 and way low for an I4
could be several things t-stat stuck in open position causing ecu to believe that engine is not warmed up and therefor engine runs rich all the time Lockup solenoid or clutch bad on auto trans low fuel ressure trans slipping |
RE: Poor Miles Per Gallon on my 98LX (auto)
Do you mean high fuel ressure? ;)
Brakes dragging? Heavy wheels and tires? Check engine light on? |

the questions raised by Chio and Yeu are good ones ,, on top of those ..
when was the last time car was tuned up ? 60k service ?? |
RE: Poor Miles Per Gallon on my 98LX (auto)
high fuel pressure would do it too. But believe it or not low fuel pressure will do it since the fuel cannot be properly atomised
