Poor Miles Per Gallon on my 98LX (auto)
I'm getting approx. 19mpg city & 24mpg hiway. Is this about right?
I only have 65k miles & have done reg. maintainence.
I read the the oxygen sensor play a big role in MPG, when are you suppost to replace it?
From Cars.com It should be in this range:
EPA Fuel Economy:
City: 20 – 25 Highway: 28 – 32

RE: Poor Miles Per Gallon on my 98LX (auto)
V6? that's a little low for a V6 and way low for an I4
could be several things
t-stat stuck in open position causing ecu to believe that engine is not warmed up and therefor engine runs rich all the time
Lockup solenoid or clutch bad on auto trans
low fuel ressure
trans slipping
