Popping sound over bumps...
Hi everyone,
I've been hearing a 'popping' sound in the front end of my 2001 Accord when I drive over bumps. I can hear it on both sides (left and right) but it typically only occurs when only one wheel hits the bumps. For example, if I go over a speed bump with both wheels hitting the bump at the same time, I hear nothing. If, however, I drive over that same bump one wheel at a time, I hear the 'pop'. Same thing happens when I drive up/down my driveway at an angle.
I have raised the front end and have checked each wheel for play. Both wheels are firm, so I'm guessing that the tie rods, ball joints, etc. are all ok.
I recently installed a new set of drive axles, so those can be eliminated as the culprit.
Is there anything else that would / could be making this noise? Any help is much appreciated!
Anthony
