Post Ignition Lock Cylinder Job: No Cruise, Horn, SRS

Hello,

I recently replaced the ignition lock cylinder on the '93 Accord AT. To do this, it was necessary to remove the steering wheel and airbag.

After I replaced everything, the SRS light poped on after about 50 miles, the horn and cruise control stopped working.

So, I replaced all of the relevant fuses. Then, I pulled off the steering wheel to check that the electrical plugs were ok. Everything looked fine.

Any suggestions? Is it a funky computer issue relating to tampering with the airbag?

Thanks!

Probably a damaged cable reel. The cable reel can easily break if it is overextended. The cable reel and steering wheel needs to be centered when it's put back together; otherwise the cable reel will get to the end of it's travel in one direction before the steering wheel reaches it's max travel. This will break the cable reel and you won't feel a thing when it breaks.

A damaged cable reel can set the SRS light and DTC and have the horn and cruise control not work.

They are kind of expensive, so maybe search a salvage yard.
