preventive parts replacement
96 accordDX F22B2 Auto I have the opportunity to have my mechanic to do side work for me cheaply. The car has 142 K miles. Anyone know the lifespan of the starter/solenoid assembly and the also the waterpump? Are they worth replacing as preventive maintenance? Timing belt was done at 90 K. All other maintenance is up to date. Also I have a stuck oxygen sensor covered under ext emissions warranty--anyone dealt with Honda Dealer with this warranty at all? Thanks for the info.

Water pump should be replaced at next timing belt interval (180K miles) for sure. Also timing belt tensioner. Balance shaft/oil pump cover oring is another must as it will probably leak soon. Perhaps also crankshaft, balance shaft, and camshaft seals. These items are readily accessible during timing belt maintenance.
Starter solenoid contacts are easily accessed when problem occurs. I would wait on these.
Stuck O2 sensor is pretty easy problem to fix (lots of heat and big wrench). I don't think you should have any problems w/ Honda.
good luck
