Hello everyone,
I own a 1991 Honda Accord, my first car, which was given to me by my father awhile back. After 220,000 miles, it is in pretty bad shape and I am planning to restore it. Now, people have been telling me it would be both cheaper and more convenient to simply buy a new car, but I simply couldn’t live with that. First, it is my first car. Second, I love Honda, specially the Accord. Third, I simply want to build myself my own unique car and be proud of owning a one of kind auto. The Euro R K20A engine and transmission: The plan is pretty much to rebuild the car from scratch. For starters, the engine: I was wondering about using the K20A engine from the Euro R model. Now, I am not an auto expert, so I was wondering if any of you guys could tell me just about how much I should be expecting to pay for both the engine and parts to properly install it. My car is automatic but I intend to change that as well. Granted that I am already planning to use the K20A engine, I guess to ease my problems I will use the transmission from the Euro R model also. So far, I think I have my transmission and engine problem solved. Interior/exterior looks and etc.: The interior is composed of leather seats and standard brown finish. It will be fully restored and refurbished to suit its vintage with a modern touch. The body itself isn’t in very bad shape but will be fully restored; however, I am aiming for an extremely low ride height with a matching body kit and have thus far had some trouble finding body kits to fit my model, so if anyone could help me with that problem I thank you for your help in advance. I like OZ and Toyo, albeit a car newbie and knowing nothing about them. Personally, I think OZ makes beautiful rims, and I hear Toyo Tires excels in performance which is my ultimate goal for my car. So, if you guys have any pointers, please, do throw them at me: specs and whatnot. Thank you in advance. Suspension: Which Accord offers the best suspension and how compatible is it to the 1991 model I own? All help is most appreciated. Exhaust, Intake, and etc.: Which are best suited for the K20A engine and transmission components? I aim for excellence in performance, power, and beauty. All help is welcomed and thanked for in advance! Thanks for all the help and pointers in advance! Thank you for your time and assistance, Pepeu
