Hello! My understanding is that any codes relating to the blinking D4 light refer to a transmission related code/problem - is this correct? Would there be any transmission issues that would throw a code AND be the cause of a no start condition?

1994 Accord LX Auto - occasionally cranks but won't turnover - and then it will suddenly start up and drive fine. Stored codes for D4 are 1, 8, 13, 14. I just disconnected the battery and now codes are gone, so I will wait to see if they come back.

Just not sure how or why a trans issue would not allow the car to start...

 

I can't think of a transmission error that would prevent the engine from running.

 

Turned out to be a main relay problem causing my intermittent no start condition. Got it right on the first try!
