Default Rack and Pinion needs replacement - 95 wagon

Hello

I would like to know what re manufactures to stay away from and which have a proven reliability track record

The driver side wheel has slop ,vibration at low speed. The problem is in slop the Rack and Pinion on that side only
Wheels have been re-balance. rims are straight

Who is the best source for the part?

I haven't seen too many issues with the PS rack and pinion on here. Getting one from the dealership is the best option, but will be very expensive.

Do you see any signs of PS fluid leaks or are you losing PS fluid?

Are you sure the rack is the issue vs the inner tie-rod joints? It may be worthwhile to pull back the boot to inspect the inner joints for excessive play vs the rack itself. I'd use a zip tie to re-secure the boot.
