Default Radio issue 2011 accord lx

Hi everybody. Hope someone can help me with this problem. I bought an old ‘11 accord and the rear speakers don’t work. The wiring is intact so I’m wondering if the problem is something in the radio itself in which case I’ll just get another Honda oem. What I was wondering before I pull it is, does anyone have any suggestions for getting the speakers working again? I’ve already checked YouTube for hacks.

If not I’m going to buy the replacement radio BEFORE pulling the old one so I was wondering if anyone knew if I could put any of the other oem units in that space than the one that came with my specific model which is the LX, and only holds one cd. Other Honda oem radios that I see online that will fit in the space, hold up to six cds. I don’t know enough about this stuff to know if it would be a simple plug and play process or if it would require wiring new harnesses, etc. in order to be compatible with my steering wheel controls.

Got any suggestion? Thanks in advance!!!

Check the fade setting on the audio unit aren't set to have on the front speakers working.

I'm pretty sure the speaker output comes from an amplifier in the glove box area, so you may want to inspect the wiring there to see if someone modified the wiring to install a stereo system in your car.

The harness Connector B is different for an OEM 1 CD player vs an OEM 6 CD player.

Default 2011 accord amp question

Hey folks, got two back speakers that don’t work and I know it’s not the stock radio or wiring in my 2011 accord lx. Next step is the electrical department. Does it make sense to even check the fuses if the front speakers ARE working? Does anybody know if there are separate fuses for the front and the back speakers? If so, do you know which fuse box that would be in? Thanks in advance. If this doesn’t solve the problem I’m going to have to replace the amp and I’m not looking forward to that nasty job!!!

thanks everybody!

Your new thread was merged with your original thread since it is the same issue.

Your 2011 LX does not have a separate stand alone amp, it is integrated into the audio unit.

There are no separate fuses related just to speakers.

Default Follow up

I saw this video from a Honda service center for my year and model but does not specify trim. I have a single disc cd player and I think this is for a 5 or 6. that says there is a factory amp for the speakers. Can you take a look and comment? Thanks if you can;
. If not you can go to YouTube and just type in “honda accord amplifier removal” and you’ll find the exact video on a 2011 accord factory amplifier and where it goes, etc. Would it make sense that an amplifier would have its own fuse somewhere?

The 1 CD normal audio system does not have a separate amp. Honda circuit diagram do not show a separate amp.

The separate amp is on premium audio OEM system, which is not what your LX has.

Hey Redbull-1: YOU’RE THE MAN!!! Great advice. Right on the money. Thanks for the diagrams which helped me understand that my system is too basic to have outboard amps, etc. Now I know for sure that there is a blown channel or circuit in the radio itself, which I can now replace with confidence. Thanks again.

Default One more question…

Hey Redbull-1, I saw on the right side of the normal schematic an area marked “Passengers under dash fuse/relay box”. Might a problem in that area cause a problem? Thx again.
