CONDENSED VERSION: Engine making rattling/buzzing noise at half throttle or more, runs fine gets good gas mileage what could it be.

Exhaust heat shield?

Buzzing A-pipe?
Some Hondas (not sure what years) have double-wall A-pipe. Thats a legendary problem in 3rd-gen Integra.

Could check exhaust by raising car andhitting it with a rubber mallet to determine source of noise...might just be a pebble trapped in heat shield.

Thanks for suggestions, both things I haven't checked......the heat shield is tight....does the exhaust pipe have to be removed to change clutch, I think noise came about same time clutch replacement.

Theres several heat shields, some bolted to the floorpan.

Exhaust A-pipeprobably has to be removed in order to remove tranny. Alignment of exhaust pipe??

Well I guess this weekend I'm going to get under there and try to find something in the exhaust (it's too hot now lol, I don't want to do it after work)...I need to take the car to the muffler shop anyway I have an exhaust leak of some sort I think anyway....

My 95 Integra had the buzzing A-pipe, it drove me nuts. I couldnt get it to rattle by hitting it or anything. I finally threw up my hands & replaced it. (Really it was an excuse to get aDC header...)

That was a double-wall tube & the inner tube was attached only at the front. The aft end of the inner tubewould buzz against the outer tube. Only when accelerating because the engine mounts flex a certain way.

Drove me NUTS. Well, thats actually more of a putt than a drive...
