Default raw gas smell

had a fuel pump replaced 4 days ago ever since then i have a nasty odor of fresh gas in my car , it doesnt smell outside the car, under the hood or in the trunk, just in the car and only when the car is running..i think even worse on highway...please help, did the mechanic forgot to hook something back up????? it was almost unbearable the first day but seems to be getting less and less, what could this be????

You should take it back immediately to the mechanic to check his work. A fuel line connection may not have a proper seal or something.

The smell may seem less and less due to your body getting use to something when it is constantly exposed to it, can't be good for your health. Kind of like working in a coal mine, after a while, you can get more use to it.

sending unit apparently wasnt sealed as well as it should of been.
