I am at 45K on my CL and those brakes are still over 50%. I drive 31 miles one way to work and usually 1 trip is partially stop and go and the other is smooth sailing. 11 miles out those are stop and go...

yikes that is really odd, my 86 prelude had 4 wheel disc brakes and I never replaced the rear pads. my 92 accord lx is excellent on brakes, only replaced the front pads once since ive had it and the rear shoes are still in good shape.

I actually joined the forum to ask the same question. My friends 04 has 42xxx miles and the rear brakes are near the end of their life.
I see everyone recommends Honda pads, what about the rotors. Her rotors will definitely need resurfaced/replaced. Can the factory rotors be turned?

the 03+ plus accords really need 12.5" rotors...hauling nearly 3500lbs down on 11.8" rotors is is definately at the upper limits of brakes that size to be able to reliably and repeatedly stop the car without eating pads and rotors for lunch....
I am actually going to install legend 2 piston calipers onto my CL type S in the spring time....

I have 2005 Accord EX V6, the rear pads are down to the indicator. I have owned the car since new and it has 45k on it now. The pads are the original ones that came on the car so its going to be my first brake job using OEM pads this weekend. My rear pads went before my front pads. I thoughtthat was odd. All my other cars I have owned in thepast with 4 wheel disk brakes, its was like 2to 1 replacement for front to rear. Meaning, I would have to replace the front brake pads twice before I would have to replace the rear.

I have a 2001 Accord EX and I had to replace the rear pads before the front. I just recently replaced the fronts and noticed that the driver's side was wore down to nothing and the passanger's side still had quite a bit left. What is the deal with that?? I also thought that there was suppose to be an indicator light that came on when the pads were low. It did for the rear's but not for the front.

ive workedat ahonda high volume shopfor seven years from my experience accords with 4 wheels disc the rears last between 15k to 40k give or take a few depending on how the customers drives , the fronts usually 20k to 40k. ive seen cars come in with 7500 miles tires bald and brakes aready touching sensors, i guess they think they drive a formula 1 car. i ve never heard oforiginal honda disc brakes padslast over 80k
